Smart School Bond Act

*Instructional software purchased through the LHRIC includes a professional service from our experienced staff.

About this Service

The NY Smart School Bond Act was enacted by voters by referendum in November of 2014. The Act authorized the issuance of $2 billion in obligation bonds to fund educational technology and infrastructure to improve learning and opportunities for students across NYS.

The Regional Information Center and Model Schools programs state-wide have authority to assist all schools in NY with the planning for eligibility for funds. There are two required roles the RICs are playing with many having additional services as additional services to support districts as they implement technology plans.

RIC Reviewers - designated reviewers from the RIC will review all submitted Technology Plan Survey's for completion and compliance with 100.12 Regulations.

Model Schools - designated to provide information sessions and assistance for districts with completion of the Technology Planning Survey Tool (NYSED 100.12).
